latest news...

In July 2010 Steve gave two presentations in Sweden in association with the World Congress of Sociology, one to a special meeting of the Research Committee on the Sociology of the Environment and the other in a session organised by the President of the British Sociological Association; Steve’s talks were on “Climate change, climate hacks and the sociology of science” and on “The ideologicality of climate change” respectively.

Subsequently, Steve has been invited to serve as an international adviser for the American Sociological Association’s “Task Force on Sociology and Global Climate Change” which starts work this year.

Back in Edinburgh, Steve is participating in the Forum’s programme at the Edinburgh International Book Festival and will be joining celebrated author Iain M Banks and cyberneticist Kevin Warwick on August 28th to debate human enhancement and the future of society.
