At Innogen we:
- focus on crosscutting themes of uncertainty, governance, risk, regulation, globalisation and public engagement with science
- study the legal and ethical principles that influence the regulation and governance of the new life sciences and their effect on innovation, nationally and internationally
- contribute to the debate on the legitimacy of public involvement in decisions about scientific research
Intellectual property
- study the role of patents and copyrights in innovation in the life sciences and how intellectual property rights (IPRs) can impede innovation and competition
Interdisciplinarity
- study the nature of interdisciplinarity and provide insights about the kinds of enabling infrastructure that support collaboration, information-sharing and leveraging of resources
