Food and energy security; agro-biotechnology
At Innogen we:
- explore the social, economic and political impact of ‘pro-poor’ technologies and agricultural innovation, including animal cloning and the genetic modification (GM) of plants and animals
- research the changing strategies of key multinational companies important for agricultural production, trade and value-chain analysis
- investigate the attitudes and practices of the public towards new technologies, e.g. of farmers towards GM crops
- provide a global picture of research and development (R&D) and commercial activities involving animal cloning and GM, and their products
- influence public policies concerning agro-biotechnology and food and energy security
