Nicola originally trained in Natural Sciences, specialising in Genetics. After her Masters in Human Genetics, she became more interested in social aspects of science and decided to undertake a PhD in sociology, focussing on public engagement and stem cell research.
After completing her PhD project, Nicola was an Innogen Research Fellow, on the ESRC and BBSRC funded project 'Talking about Stem Cell Research' . In February 2009, Nicola left Innogen to take up a lectureship in Science and Technology Studies at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Her email address is nicola_marks@uow.edu.au
