Farah received undergraduate training in Biology and Economics (BSc Hons), and post graduate training in Economic Development and International Trade (MSc) and Technology Strategy Research (MSc) before attaining a PhD in Science and Technology Studies at the Open University. Her PhD investigated agricultural biotechnology science and innovation in Hungary.
Post doctoral work at TRRU, Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia in 2009 – 2010 involved research as a co-investigator on the CIHR grant: “Regulatory challenges to the development of new vaccines: Mapping emergent relations between science, evidence and policy” and research as a co-investigator on the WHO Global Vaccine Safety Blueprint Project: Survey of Vaccine Regulators.
