The Genomics Forum offers a stimulating environment in which to explore intersections between the creative arts and the new life sciences.  Our Bright Ideas programme is open to anyone who would like to spend a short period in residence at the Forum, to work on a project that throws new light on the science of genomics, or that brings aspects of that science to a wider audience.

Possible activities might include:

  • developing an artwork or project on some aspect of the science genomics
  • organising a workshop or seminar for life scientists to reflect on their own work from the perspective of the creative arts
  • running a public engagement event to show how science can stimulate new developments in art

For more ideas, take a look at the kinds of things that our Artists in Residence and Writers in Residence have done.  And of course, we welcome your suggestions for innovative and exciting activities you might undertake.

To help you develop your work, we will be happy to provide access, where appropriate, to the resources of the Genomics Forum and the ESRC Genomics Network, including our social scientists, writers and artists in residence, press and communications officers and events organisers.

We welcome enquiries and applications from creative artists at all stages of their careers, whether just starting out or well established.
