Writers in Residence (2009 - present)
In 2009, the Genomics Forum appointed two writers in residence, Ken MacLeod and Pippa Goldschmidt, to a year long residency to develop exciting projects aimed at connecting the arena of genomics to a wider audience.
During the residency (2009 - 2010) Ken and Pippa established a successful genomics Short Story and Poetry competitions, launched the human genre project an open ended online anthology of writing inspired by genetics and genomics and held Writer in Residence events ranging from creative writing workshops and public events with The Skinny and Writers Bloc, to supporting the Forum's popular Social Sessions events series.
