Pelin's PhD project aims to bring together the insights from knowledge management and industrial economics to better explain the "firm growth dynamics" in these industries. The focus is to understand the main determinants of firm growth under different knowledge regimes- i.e. random search and guided search regimes- that have characterised the evolution of pharmaceutical industry. Mainly, quantitative research methods are used to explore the role of factors that could potentially affect firm growth.
