I graduated in Philosophy (1st class degree) from the University of Padova under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Boniolo. I continued my studies at the University of Exeter, obtaining a Master’s degree in Sociology and Philosophy of Science (Merit) under the supervision of Prof. Lenny Moss.

My main interests are in sociology (especially sociology of health and illness), philosophy, psychology and qualitative research methods.
I am currently working at Egenis on my PhD research studying the role of genetic knowledge and technology in familial and professionals’ constructions of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). I am working with my supervisors Dr. Susan Kelly and Dr Hannah Farrimond at Egenis, and Dr. Peter Turnpenny at Clinical Genetics in the RD & E Heavitree hospital in Exeter, on the consequences of diagnosing Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), a common but relatively unknown genetic syndrome.
