Padmashree is involved in the following Innogen projects:
Her research specialization is in economic aspects of innovation, intellectual property and development, specifically in pharmaceutical biotechnology and health issues for developing countries. All her research projects issues of innovation, intellectual property and industrial dynamics with the testing of primary data from African and Asian countries to answer key questions of competitiveness and economic development in this area. Dr. Gehl Sampath has consulted various UN organisations, including the World Health Organisation and UNCTAD, the European Commission and also the German Government on intellectual property rights and health innovation issues. She is still a research fellow at UNU-MERIT and has helped build research links with several researchers from the UNU, such as Prof. Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka.
