Alessandro has an undergraduate degree in Management and Economics from Universita’ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy; an MSc in the Economics from the University of Glasgow; and a PhD in Economics from the University of Strathclyde. Alessandro’s doctoral research investigated links and complementarities between Transaction Cost Economics and competence-based views of the firm, and biotechnology firms' organisational choices in the Scottish context.
Alessandro has worked as a Research Fellow at Innogen since 2003. His current research interests include industrial organisation, industrial clusters in the domain of the life sciences and other high tech industries, entrepreneurship and small business finance, economics of innovation and regional policy.
Alessandro is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Ethics, Life sciences and Society.
