Experts warn of poor communication over genetic testing

A new study by academics at Egenis and the Peninsula Medical School has exposed potential problems in the way that the medical profession deals with people who have genetic susceptibilities to conditions such as deep vein thrombosis. The research, published in October’s issue of the prestigious journal Social Science and Medicine, could lead the medical profession to rethink the way it communicates with patients who have these complex genetic predispositions.
