Is depression a reasonable response to a tragic circumstance or is it a clinical disease?
This screening of A Single Man will include an opportunity for discussion and debate. The film will be introduced by academics from Cardiff University. After the film there will be a wine reception and a panel discussion involving biomedical and social scientists. The audience will be invited to debate some of the issues raised by the film. The debate will focus on the issue of psychological disorders, grief and bereavement, suicide, and our perceptions of normality and abnormality.
