Deborah Robinson's Online Diary

This diary is intended to capture the dynamics of the exchange of ideas with my colleagues at Egenis that takes place during my residency. Alongside this I hope to cast light on the material/visual processes I use to create an artwork.

Initially, I will work from the theoretical premise that language and sight are culturally constituted, and, as such, limit (or prescribe) how matter is interpreted. As a result, it seems likely that aspects of the genome are rendered invisible within the discipline. To counter this, I shall try to approach making work using material processes that privilege the body, touch and the unconscious.
