Grant to study the Linnean archive
Date Released: 07 January 2009Egenis Lecturer Staffan Müller-Wille has been awarded a grant of more than £100,000.
The grant from The Wellcome Trust to study the Linnean archive in London is awarded on condition that a suitable Research Assistant will be appointed.
Based at the Centre for Medical History (CMH) at the University of Exeter, Staffan's project, 'Rewriting the System of Nature: Linnaeus's Use of Writing Technologies', will investigate how practices of processing written information shaped scientific and medical conceptions of a 'natural order' in the 18th century.
