Delegates travelling by road

Exeter is easily reached by the M5 Motorway to the east and by the A30 to the west.

The University of Exeter Streatham Campus where the conference is being held is approximately 30 minutes from the M5. There are signs to the University almost as soon as you come off the motorway. If you miss J29 then you may take J30 with signs to the University there as well. You will pick up the A3015 after a short way on the A379 heading towards Topsham.

Parking

Delegates who are staying in on-campus accommodation will be issued a Residential Car Parking Permit on key collection. Please can these be clearly displayed in your vehicle with your car registration marked on it. You may park your car at the car park near to your accommodation until you leave, or you may move your car around campus and park it in any of the campus car parks. Parking is on a first come, first served basis.

Delegates who are not staying in on-campus accommodation must purchase a car parking ticket from the machines located near to the car parks on campus.

Delegates travelling by train

The railway station closest to the University Campus is Exeter St. David’s. This is served by main line routes from London and the North of England. Once at St. David’s you may take a taxi from the rank outside the station, this should cost you no more than £6.00.

If you would like to walk from the station to the campus, there is a quick and direct route although it is quite steep. Come out of the station and walk to the main road, cross at the pelican crossing and turn left and then immediately right along a narrow path (Clements Lane) signposted as the pedestrian route to the city centre. At the top of the hill, cross the road and walk up Howell Road. Turn left onto New North Road, and finally turn right on to Streatham Drive and the University Campus.

Delegates travelling by bus

The main bus station is in the City Centre on Paris Street, about one mile from the Streatham Campus. A local bus service around the city is run by Stagecoach. The D bus service runs from the city centre to the Streatham Campus every 30 minutes during the day Monday – Saturday. Further information is available from www.stagecoachbus.com

Delegates travelling by air

Direct flights operate to Exeter International Airport from across the UK and Europe. Exeter Airport is situated six miles from the city centre, and transport from the airport to the University Campus may be either by bus or by a short taxi journey.
