At Cesagen we:
- explore the entanglements and convergences between the post-genomic biosciences and the social sciences and humanities.
- explore the possibilities and implications of this for social science analysis and explanation.
- combine IT expertise with social science and humanities research questions.
- analyse shifts towards data-intensive research and also seeks ways to critically channel freely accessible digital data to make new tools for social, economic and policy analysis of the contemporary life sciences, e.g. Research Desktop.
- explore the potential of digital methods to promote collaborative research with developing countries, civil society organisations and indigenous peoples in and around the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and access and fair and equitable benefit-sharing for genetic resources.
