Cesagen at ASEAN Conference
Date Released: 23 October 2009Dr Paul Oldham was an invited speaker at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) conference on Biodiversity held in Singapore, 21st to 23rd of October 2009.
The purpose of the conference was to focus on biodiversity in South-East Asia in the period to 2010 and beyond in preparation for a meeting of Ministers from the 10 members of the association and in debates under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. Dr Oldham presented on the issue of the role of information and communication technology in capacity building and technology transfer with respect to access to genetic resources and benefit-sharing with a particular focus on genomics, neglected diseases and international research collaborations.
