EGN expertise is derived from a close engagement with genomic science and technology. The EGN is a potential partner for addressing social and philosophical issues raised by genomics. As stakeholders natural scientists are an integral part of EGN research.

Scientists and other practitioners contribute to EGN research projects in a variety of ways, as collaborators, by providing continuous input, as research subjects, and as audiences. For example, research biologists or providers of genetic advice in medical contexts are either actively involved in EGN research projects or ultimately benefit from our research results.

The EGN also publishes research findings in journals primarily serving and read by scientists and practitioners.

Scientists are also regular speakers at the EGN.
