Why are we so fascinated with the monstrous and the anomalous?

This screening of The Wolfman will include an opportunity for discussion and debate. The film will be introduced by academics from Cardiff University. After the film there will be a wine reception and a panel discussion involving biomedical and social scientists. The audience will be invited to debate some of the issues raised by the film. The debate will focus on the rise in popularity of the gothic in film, the historical treatment of madness, personal transformation and trigger events for psychiatric disorders.
