MSc Genetic Counselling (Cardiff)
Introduction
At Cardiff we offer an MSc in Genetic Counselling in conjunction with The University of Wales College of Medicine (UWCM). The program is designed to prepare students for clinical practice in the field of genetic counselling. It is open to:
- professionals already working in the field of genetic counselling
- graduates with an appropriate first degree.
Aims and Objectives of the Course
The primary aim of this course is to train graduates interested in the clinical application of advances in human genetics so that they can provide and critically evaluate clinical genetics services. Students will be given a thorough grounding in human genetics and genetic analysis, in communication and counselling skills, and in the skills required for them to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing genetic counselling for families.
